Simon Pearce

Total Breakthrough Fund support: £295,000

Simon set off into new territory as an independent comedy producer with his company The Invisible Dot, which he set up in London in 2009, quickly establishing a reputation as a highly individual and original producer of new talent and creativity amongst comedians. He was offered Breakthrough Fund support in 2010, which he has used to commission projects outside the scope of the established stand up ‘one performer with a mic’ format, and to build the company’s capacity beyond its starting position as a one-man band renting a unit at Camden Market’s Stables.

A new post of General Manager was created in 2011, and further core support alongside the support for artistic commissions has followed. Later in 2011, Simon was offered private backing to allow The Invisible Dot to lease and develop its new home in King’s Cross in London, and the company runs this as a small performance venue and workspace where it can develop new projects. Simon’s funding concluded in 2015.
